Editorial guidelines

Our goal is simple: every article should help a reader make a better money decision. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.

Accuracy first

We check numbers against primary sources whenever possible, including the IRS, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Federal Reserve, the FDIC, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Social Security Administration and TreasuryDirect. When a figure is an estimate or a projection, we say so.

We don't rank companies

WalletJolly does not publish "best of" lists, star ratings or awards for banks, card issuers, insurers or brokers. We explain how products work and what to compare, so you can choose for yourself.

Independence from advertisers

We may earn money when readers click certain links. Advertisers never review, approve or edit our articles, and compensation doesn't influence what we write.

Updates and corrections

Money rules change often. We review articles when rates, limits or laws change and show the date each article was last updated. If you spot an error, tell us and we will fix it.

Not personal advice

Our content is general education. Your situation is unique, so for decisions about investments, taxes, insurance or legal matters, consider talking with a licensed professional.
